BIO
My name is Mari Ortega, I am a Graphic Designer with applied experience in Sociology. I use my background in each of these fields to develop comprehensive resources set on improving accessibility to healthcare and education for underserved populations.
In 2017, I founded YPOCMag, an online platform highlighting achievements, events and discourse impacting young people of color.
For over 6 years, I have poured my passions into serving as an advocate for marginalized groups supporting healthcare equity, transformative justice and reproductive rights efforts. I work closely with several grassroots and mutual aid organizations, extending my design and research skills back into my community.
I aim to complete a Masters in medical communications to continue contributing to the ever-growing field of education and medical visual & graphic based resources.
